Feeling Pissy

I woke up with a migraine.
That spoils the morning.
Happens more often than not anymore.
Ruins the day.
And having the day ruined pisses me off.
There are only just two weekend days, and my stupid, fucking headache spoiled this one.
Damn!

And around a migraine, I tend to get moody, angry, fussy, and just generally pissy about everything.  It is just part of the package.  Even when I've started to feel physically better (read:  my head doesn't feel like it is about to explode), I tend to be still emotionally volatile.  Sucks.

So...  In no particular order, things that piss me off:

  • Miley Cyrus
  • I finished reading Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver
  • I have to do the laundry
  • There are floods in Colorado where my kids live
  • I've got a boy kid in my math class who simply will not work with me, insisting that he "doesn't get any of it."
  • My veggie garden is almost done, and I have lost the joy of having it since my neighbors have been so ugly about it
  • Every package of strawberries purchased in the last few weeks have spoiled before we can eat them
  • Syria and Obama and Congress and Putin and every single news program that brings any of that up
  • I don't drink Coke anymore
  • My house is a mess
  • I need a shower
  • Need to go make coffee
  • All shoes hurt my feet after awhile
  • Every Fetlife group is contentious and nasty
  • I want a cheeseburger and an ice cream cone
  • DD-er's seem to be swarming over this blog, while no one else even comes to look anymore
  • The baseball season is coming down to the end and the Reds continue to just play subpar ball
  • Football season and baseball season are in that period of overlap
  • The DVR on the TV works by principles I do not fully comprehend
  • It is the season for crazy meetings with crazy parents
  • Gas prices are all over the place

I'm sure there is more, but you get the picture.

  1. The picture looks pretty sucky, but I still have hopes it improves. I sympathize on the school and especially the meeting with crazy parents thing.

I'll leave you with one thought - it could be worse, what if Miley Cyrus got together with Justin Bieber and they decided to reproduce?

  3. I think you should get in your car and go get a hamburger AND an ice cream cone. And fie on neighbors who don't understand how beautiful it is to make REAL tomatoes.

    1. Miranda, we went out this evening to a local Celtic festival, where a number of my current and former students were dancing. Pretty neat! And then, on the way home, we stopped for a real, live, honest to goodness cheeseburger. Heaven!

  4. Dear Swan,

I feel like you and I live in synch - and that we could have spent the day together commiserating. Migraine, tick, laundry, tick, stupid math boy, tick (only mine is MINE if that makes sense, and it doesn't make it better!), Obama and Syria, tick, the TV being too confusing, tick. I don't have bad neighbours but I do have crazy peri-meno periods and I MAY also be a bit emotional.

    Is the book any good?

  5. i am not a DDer (whatever that is - cheeky grin) and I am always hanging out around here...

got something that might make you smile (I hope makes you smile) ........... miss ashes (the cat) has been off colour for about a week, Wednesday night she puked - Sir came to get me - Thursday she cried off and on all day - Friday she was listless and kept hiding. I couldn't take it anymore and called the vet office (conveniently located around the corner) they fit us in. The vet probed and poked and told me he felt a lump - I felt the lump. He suggested an X-ray. We had to leave her for a couple of hours till they could do it. I came home in tears - sure she would never come home again. We picked her up at 6 - and the vet couldn't be sure what was going on - so he sent the Xrays off to a specialist. All that cost me just over $500. Today he called me and told me miss ashes is constipated.......... CONSTIPATED!!! told me what laxative to buy at the drugstore and said he would call Monday. $500 to find out she needs more fiber??!!

Anyway - hope it brought a smile to your face..............

I am a migraine sufferer too. I understand completely how off you feel all around after an attack.

Do you mind telling us what the bone of contention was?

Mixed up my images for a moment there and in my head saw swarms of DD'ers pillaging your veggie garden...

How long ago did you give up the Coke? Coke/Pepsi withdrawal can make for MAJOR headaches/migraines...

Glad to read in other comments that your day improved :) Yay for cheeseburgers ;)

  11. I don't know what DD'ers are either, and I don't make it every day to read, but I do make it to catch up.

I second Ordalies question... Why were the neighbors so nasty about a garden for goodness sakes???

I hope the fall comes and cools you soon dear Swan.

Remember to breath, and go to a happy place in your mind.

    Hugs,
    Mystress

  14. We have the same problem with strawberries at our house, although we all like them! And we buy organic.....so that's expensive waste!!

I left Fetlife in summer of 2012. Not only nastiness, but also a haven for pedos with admin calling them "fellow kinksters".

Gas here in Cincy......not sure what area you're in but I travel through NKY (up 27) into Anderson, through Newtown and Indian Hill. I have found consistently that the cheapest stations through that area (27, 275, five mile rd all down Beechmont, through east gate, Milford, or down 32 through Newtown to Wooster to Terrace Park to Indian Hill) always seems to be the station (Marathon, I think??) on corner of Little Dry Run and 32 as well as the UDF down the road on corner of 32 and Newtown/Church Street. I've seen them be 30 cents cheaper than the dozens of stations I've passed on the same days! It's insane!!
