We arrived home just after noon today. Everything is going well -- much better than we dared to hope.
He is in relatively little pain, eating well, tired, but otherwise good.
We are all a bit tired, in fact, so I imagine that these next few days will be rounds of ice, pain medication, very passive and limited Physical Therapy -- and naps. Lots of naps.

Naps are good. :)
ReplyDeleteSwan,
ReplyDeleteHappy news for all of you. Thanks for sharing. I know you are aware of the healing benefits of Arnica as a cream for bruising. Arnica Montana comes in a meltaway that is about the size of sprinkles on a cupcake. It promotes circulation, bruising and healing. I used it before a surgery, and have since for additional procedures. I am NOT generally a health alternative kind of person, but the difference is amazing. My healing was twice as fast, the pain was significantly less, and scaring was almost none. You can get it for $6 or $7 dollars at any health store. Take 3/4 at a time first thing in the AM, then during the day every few hours as needs. Might be worth a shot. I know shoulders can be a booger!
Stay strong...
Definitely lots of naps. They really help *grin*
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well :)
So glad you are home safe and well and things are progressing.

Tom, I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you, all, for all the good wishes. We are so very pleased at the progress He is making. It really does seem that this surgery has gone as well as others have gone badly.
ReplyDeletePalomino -- thank you for that piece of advice. We've used topical arnica for a very long time to help manage the pain of that "now gone" shoulder, so I'll take a look and see what I can find to help with this phase.
