So Far So Good

T has had a very good first day.  Her pain is minimal thanks to a new medication that the surgeon uses IN THE KNEE to control pain for the first 24 to 36 hours.

She ate a pretty good dinner of chicken soup and macaroni and cheese and grapes.

Her first round of physical therapy went extremely well -- she is already pushing to maximize her use of her new knee.

Her oxygen levels are good and so she is off oxygen and resting comfortably.

She'll start her PT classes tomorrow morning, and hopefully things will continue to progress well.

We'll pass on all your hugs and good wishes -- thank you all.

  1. wonderful news !! I am so glad she is firmly on the road to using her bionic knee. She will soon be chasing you two around the grounds when you go walking ;)

  2. Yeah for T...keeping good thoughts flowing to all of you! Thanks for the updates..hugs..abby

Having had this surgery, as well as the nerve killing version of pain control, I can promise you every pain you feel now doing as much as you can saves you a bundle on the back end. I didn't have the good care you're enjoying and was waiting 2 months just to walk again. I had much better attention for hip joint replacement surgery and know the difference now.

Good luck getting back on your feet, and eventually back on your knees ;) I hope you folks work the issues out. My dear oenomel has enjoyed your posts for years now, hate to see the pot holes taking their toll on the suspension, as it were.

This has been something beautiful to follow. Recover that beauty as you recover your health. And enjoy your holidays together, sanely and sensually.

  4. Awesome!!

  5. Yeah for T !!!! Next 20 mile walks for all
