What lies ahead for us is clean up and resettling of all our things.
If you've never been through the installation of laminate floors, then you might not anticipate what we've discovered -- this process is massively dusty! There is a fine film of sawdust over every single flat surface. On the floors, certainly, but on every bit of furniture and in every crease and crevice that is anywhere near horizontal.
That will make the cats awfully happy. The sincere hope is that by the time Monday rolls around, our world will be back to normal and we'll be able to find the everyday, mundane items that a person needs just to function. Because, the reality is that it really should not be a challenge to find your toothbrush in the morning... Just sayin'...

FYI, you know those rounded wood strips that go at the bottom of the wall where the baseboard joins with the floor? A length of that stuff makes a very wicked cane. As my ass can testify...

Actually, I have thought about what a faulously stingy paddle or paddles could be fashioned out of one of the left over laminate planks.
ReplyDeleteI've always felt that one of the key aspects of spanking effectively was the spankee's experience of the Top's absolute intent to deliver a pinfully intense experience to her. I've always thought that a way to increase that dynamic was to use implements that were designed and created uniquely to deliver a painfully intense spanking. Thus, I have generally avoided using mixing spoons, belts that were desgned to keep your pants from falling down, and various pervertable forms of industrial waste. This kind of falls into that category, but in that I could with intention fabricate these items to become spanking implements, that should suffice. Besides perhaps I could task swan to create a laminate paddle and cane to be used on her. I think she would enjoy imagining how it would eventually feel on her bottom, as she "pain-stakingly" and carefully works to make them to a degree of excellence I'll find acceptable.
