Spiritual Literacy

One of my favorite "companion" books is "Spiritual Literacy -- Reading the Sacred in Everyday Life" by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat. It is an anthology of spiritual bits and pieces taken from people from all over the world and from all walks of life. The language spans cultures and belief systems, and I appreciate the breadth of vision it brings to the spirit quest. I keep it close at hand...

The opening pages contain a "spiritual ABC's," a sort of shorthand lexicon of what the author's present as common practices or language that helps if one wants to learn to speak the language of spirit... Sometimes it veers too close to borders that I'm not comfortable with, but with minor substitutions, I can make these work for me, and I find so much accessible wealth here.

Maybe they are good for someone else too. At any rate, here they are -- personal treasure, freely offered...
