Toy collection #9

We have lots of items in our collection that are made by Danny of Leather by Danny. The quality of his leather work is without equal anywhere. We always look for Danny when we go to events, and we almost always purchase things from him. I've got both ankle and wrist cuffs from Danny as well as a really fine and lovely leather collar. Over the years, Danny has proved to be an excellent crafter of fine fetish gear, as well as a remarkably reliable vendor of marvelous integrity. We had one occasion to contact him a couple of years ago because a rivet had come loose on one of the cuffs we'd purchased from him. He was quick to provide directions and the needed hardware for repairing the problem, and threw in some goodies in the bargain. Danny is simply one of the "good guys" in the scene.

Now, Danny has now branched out into making paddles. We bought one at Winter Wickedness. It is bright red, made from acrylic plexi, and it feels just wicked. Master loves it, but from my perspective, it has knife-blade sharp edges, and absolutely no give. He claims that it is better than many of our other paddles; that it doesn't bruise me or leave welts, or break my skin. The first couple of times that I encountered it, I just really hated it, but I think, maybe, I'm getting a little better with it. I don't hate it as much as I did a week ago. Still, I think (not that anyone cares) that Danny really ought to stick to leather. Sheesh!

Such an interesting looking paddle. I am curious to know how it feels. Can you compare the sensation to any other toy?

  7. I too think swan did a fabulous job with this picture. Yes, that's right.....swan. She took this picture herself using the delay function on new camcorder t and I gave her for Christmas. Her facial expression is priceless. She really has had difficulty reconciling herself to being spanked with this paddle, and unfortunatley for her, I have eroticized this particular paddle as much as any I've encountered for some while.

We actually purchased two like this. One is this translucent red one. The other one is identical other than that it is opaque black with flames engraved in the length of the paddle blade. They are a very nice wieght, about a quarter inch thick, and are nicely flexible. I think the smacking sound they make and the general feel each time they smack swan's ass, are some of the most satisfying spanking sensations I've expereinced as a Top.

The other aspect of them that I find really superior is the effect they have on swan's ass. It is clear that they have a tremendously intenisve sesation for her. Her bottom reddens nicely from them and she is quickly brought to squirming and vocalizig when she is paddled with them. I enjoy using the red one to see if I can make the color of her bottom match the paddle's color. But they do not damamge her. Our other paddles, both wooden and lexan, tend to bruise, welt and even breakd her skin in her "weak places." They wind up with her bleeding afterwards and create bruises that last for days. These paddles spank her considerably, leave her ass red, stinging, and very hot, but have yet to raise a welt, break her skin, or to create any bruising.

She has been complaining about having these used on her, how much they hurt, and how she feels they have "sharp edges." Yesterday morning in the middle of her spanking I switched to one of our traditional lexan paddles which gave her an opportunity to compare and contrast this new red paddle with one of our more usual ones. I think she came to appreciate this new paddle more in that moment.

I suspect this feeling she has that it has "sharp edges" is a funtion of how thin this paddle is. (The paddle edges are not really sharp and are nicely finished.) Danny has these paddles in a wider version. Perhaps it would have been better had I selected the wider ones.

Anyway thank you for appreciating swan's venture into self-photography as much as I am.

Perhaps sometime we'll show you a post-red-paddle-spanking shot of swan for you to appreciate as well.

    All the best,

    Tom

  8. To try and answer some of the questions asked here:

The "feel" of this paddle is different than others I've experienced. It is very light, although not terribly flexible. There is very little thud with this paddle. It feels extremely stingy, and although I know it isn't true, I'd swear the edges are sharp -- to the point of feeling like they leave cuts. I suspect some of that is that the shape and size of this paddle tend to concentrate all of the force of the impact into a relatively small area, and so the intensity is ratcheted up.

We don't have a Teflon paddle, morningstar, so I can't compare. This is lighter than our lexan paddles. We only have one wooden paddle that is in the same "weight" category as this, and the feel is different -- probably because it is wood.

The other thing that people seem to be wondering about is "what I was thinking" as that picture was made. There are no simple answers to that question.

I was involved, at some level, in the technical part of just making the photo. I have a new camera that Master and T got me for Christmas and I am slowly learning how to use it. It has a delay, and so I can take photos of myself by myself. Pretty cool!

I wanted to find a way to showcase the color and tranparency of the material of the paddle. It is unique and I wanted to show it off. So, I was standing there hoping that you would see through the paddle -- see me behind the paddle.

Part of the look you see is me making peace with this particular implement. I tend to react viscerally and emotionally to new paddles; new toys. The way in which I perceive them at the outset tends to color my interactions with them from there on out. With this one, I had issues right from the start. T picked it out, and suggested it to Master. That just bugs me at some level. She doesn't get spanked. She didn't used to set me up, so that's a new thing in our household. Then, the very first tiem He went to use it with me, I was not feeling terrific, and He did one of those "grab the paddle and start whomping my butt with it" things He does when He's focused on the current "whatever it is" that He's obsessed with. I reacted badly, and my already tenuous relationship with this particular piece got even shakier.

I do know that Master has a huge "thing" going with this paddle, so I know that it is going to be a big part of my world. Getting past my issues with it is really my job, and so part of what you see in the photo is me working my way into a decent, civilized way of relating to this beast.

There are other layers there, probably -- fear, and worry, and sadness... Those, I think, are showing on my face these days. I want us all to be to the other side of this surgical ordeal, and I want us to arrive there and have life be the way I want it to be. I am hopeful, and that too, is there in this photo.
